Our Sense-Sational Museum on Us Experiences
We visited the Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada during Spring Break 2018. The museum provided different hands-on exhibits for children from one year to 13 years old. The museum provided real-life experiences including a mechanic station where children can change the tire on a car to a bank where children can practice making financial decisions. Our experiences at this museum sparked conversations about the future and lead to some pretty awesome extension activities when we arrived at home.
During Spring Break 2019, we traveled to Kansas City, Missouri to explore all they have to offer little ones. One of our favorite experiences was the Science City at Union Station. We were able to learn more about the 5 Senses and its connection to brain develop; pretend to be paleontologist by observing life-like dinosaurs, and learning about the water cycle at the Every Last Drop water station. While the majority of the exhibits at Science City are for older scientist, they have done an amazing job of incorporating littles ones into the science equation and offering modifications as well. We will definitely return to the Kansas City Science City.

Our most recent experience was visiting the Children’s Museum of Richmond. We used our senses to do some many things including riding the carousel, serving lunch in the diner and producing and starring in our very own performance in the theater, which added a unique touch to this museum. This museum is perfect for curious toddlers and pre-schoolers with vivid imaginations.
